Our board members are selected to ensure that the diverse expertise and leadership within our organization are well-represented. All CMCO BOD members receive no compensation for their work at CMCO and they offer their services at no charge to the organization. They are dedicated to the success of CMCO and committed to ensuring ongoing access to Chinese Medicine health care, services, and education for the community.
Mark Manton, L.Ac, LMT, Naturopath

President Emeritus and founding member of Colorado Chinese Medicine University, 1989-2024. Mark founded CMCO with his founding partners from CCMU (George Kitchie, Shi Cheng) on Dec 20, 2007. As the CMCO President, he has been managing and guiding CMCO’s purpose and mission ever since, ensuring the ongoing success and accomplishment of CMCO’s goals. Mark is proud of CMCO’s growth and accomplishments over the past 14 years and looks forward to ever-increasing contributions to the community and its health through CMCO programs.

Joseph Brady, M.S., L.Ac

Joe is the vice president of CMCO and has served on the board since 2023. He has been involved in Chinese Medicine health care as a practitioner and teacher for the past 19 years. He is enthusiastic about his role at CMCO and about advancing CMCO’s community health care and research initiatives. Joe is head of the research department at CCMU and CMCO. He works to coordinate research projects, oversees the CCMU IRB, and advances research in TCM and Integrative Medicine. He has presented at leading conferences, such as Harvard Medical School’s Osher Institute and the Oxford Roundtable at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford. He currently operates a clinic in Denver, Colorado.

Yanyun is the CFO of CMCO. She is a graduate of Beijing University of TCM and holds a Bachelor of Medicine in TCM Pharmacy. Her expertise in Chinese Herbal Medicine and pharmacy, and her research experience, provide the CMCO BOD with excellent input regarding CM health services and approaches to CM health care, education, and research. Yan ensures that CMCO meets its financial goals and can continue to offer CM health care and support for those in need.

Jacqui Shumway, M.A. Kinesiology

As a therapeutic kinesiologist & Tai Chi instructor, Jacqui is dedicated to promoting the joy of living through the meditative martial art of Tai Chi and Traditional Chinese Medicine. An old Chinese saying is that the greatest healer is a teacher, and Jacqui is a master teacher. Dedicated to providing students with compelling information on health issues coupled with ancient wisdom, she inspires students to have fun taking control of their health. CMCO is happy to have Jacqui on the board, offering her wealth of experience in offering and promoting Chinese Medicine, Tai-chi, and health and wellness programs throughout the Denver area. Jacqui offers substantial expertise in networking and event development to CMCO.

Mary offers her years of experience in health and wellness from the perspective of a successful LMT in a private therapeutic bodywork practice. For 35 years, Mary specialized in chronic pain relief.
During the last two years of her massage practice, she provided hospice massage services. She is currently retired as an LMT and serves on the CMCO board of directors as a public member. Mary is proud to support CMCO in advancing Chinese and Integrative Medicine for the community.
